MAGUS CHD40 is a digital HDMI camera with three video interfaces and automatic switching between 4K and Full HD depending on the monitor resolution. The camera is equipped with an 8MP sensor and produces realistic images in 4K resolution (3840x2160px) when connected via HDMI or USB3.0. When connected via Wi-Fi, the image quality is Full HD (1920x1080px). The camera uses an HDMI interface to connect to a TV, monitor, or projector directly. In this mode, the camera operates autonomously without a connection to a PC. The HDMI interface provides a high and stable transfer rate from the camera to the external screen. You can connect the camera to a PC via Wi-Fi or USB3.0. Video is recorded at 30fps. The camera combines high FPS and high bandwidth HDMI. Therefore, videos are vivid, with no freezes or gaps between frames. At maximum resolution, the image is well-detailed, moving objects are visible without bugs, and object movement is displayed without delays.
Sensor
The camera is equipped with a SONY Exmor/Starvis backlit color CMOS sensor. This technology increases light sensitivity and improves camera performance in low light conditions. The 1/1.2" sensor with 2.9x2.9µm pixel size provides light sensitivity of 1028mV with 1/30s. To achieve the maximum field of view without distortion, we recommend using an adapter with a 0.75x to 1x magnification.
Software features
The camera uses software to display images on an external display, take photographs, record video, edit images, and measure linear and angular dimensions of samples and their structures. Before taking measurements, the software must be calibrated for each objective with a calibration slide. USB3.0 and Wi-Fi interfaces are used for connecting a camera to a PC. There is software that can be installed from the included CD.
Additional devices support
In order to use the built-in software, connect a mouse to the USB port. The mouse control eliminates the vibrations that occur when the user interacts with the camera. Instead of a mouse, you can install a Wi-Fi adapter into the USB port. It is used for connecting and transferring data to a PC. Photos and videos are saved to the SD card or the flash stick. The MAGUS product line features LCD monitors designed to be directly mounted on HDMI cameras. The simultaneous use of the camera and monitor creates a compact and powerful imaging system for any MAGUS microscope.
Installation
The camera is mounted on the microscope in the trinocular tube/camera port using the C-mount adapter (included). To mount the camera in an eyepiece tube instead of an eyepiece, you will need a special C-mount adapter and adapter rings (not included) to fit the tube diameter.
