Samyang MF 16mm T2.6 VDSLR is a compact, manually focused wide angle lens designed for video filming with DSLR or mirrorless cameras. The lens is designed to cover full frame but is also available with mounts for cameras with sensor sizes in APS-C and Micro Four Thirds format (MFT). Thanks to its large maximum aperture, T2.6, it is suitable for shooting even in low-light conditions, or when you want to create scenes with shallow depth of field. Video adapted and compact MF Samyang 16mm T2.6 VDSLR is much more compact and lighter than conventional Cine lenses but still well suited for video use. The geared focus ring can be used with equipment for follow focus and a clickless aperture ring (also geared) allows the iris to be adjusted smoothly and silent during filming. Low distortion The optical design consists of 14 elements in 11 groups, which includes 2 aspherical elements to assure maximum sharpness throughout the image plane even at large apertures. Two elements of ED glass (Extra-low dispersion) and two made of HR glass (High Refractive) are used to minimize optical flaws such as chromatic aberration. The distortion is low for an ultra-wide, only -1.86 %. A multilayer antireflective coating (UMC) counteracts stray light and haze and ensures maximum contrast in the recorded material. Available for most cameras Samyang 16mm T2.6 VDSLR is available in the following mounts: Nikon F, EF, Sony A, Pentax K, Sony E, Fujifilm X, Canon M, Samsung NX, Micro 4/3 (MFT) The lens acts as an ultra-wide angle on a full frame camera (35mm format) while on a model with APS-C sensor / Super 35 it provides an angle of view corresponding to 24 mm. When used on a camera with Micro Four Thirds sensor the lens corresponds to 32 mm moderate wide angle.
