Product description

Amgala 001 is a beautiful meteorite discovered in 2022 in the Western Sahara, near the village of Meharrize. This exceptional specimen is officially classified as a Mars shergottite, making it part of an extremely exclusive group, as it is one of only 307 meteorites of this type ever recorded.

The physical characteristics of Amgala 001 reveal its extraordinary journey through outer space. The outer surface of the stone is weathered brown and features a characteristically uneven texture. However, upon closer analysis, experts discovered a lush green-grey core inside, beautifully illuminated by darker olivine phenocrystals, which give the meteorite its unique aesthetic appeal.

More scientific information can be found on the official website of the Meteoritical Society.
