Product Description

StarSense Explorer transforms manual telescope navigation by using patented sky-recognition technology and your smartphone. After placing your phone in the dedicated dock and completing a quick alignment procedure, the app calculates the telescope's position and guides you to visible celestial objects using on-screen arrows.

The robust Dobsonian base features large altitude bearings, Teflon azimuth bearings, and variable altitude tension adjustment for smooth tracking. An ergonomic panning handle allows precise telescope movement while observing.

The 203mm Newtonian reflector gathers 841 times more light than the human eye. XLT reflective coatings with protective silicon dioxide and tantalum pentoxide overcoats increase contrast and brightness, helping reveal planetary details, nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters.

The premium 2" Crayford focuser delivers smooth, precise focusing without image shift. Included adapters allow the use of both 1.25" and 2" eyepieces.

The StarSense Explorer app automatically generates a list of currently visible objects and provides detailed information and audio descriptions. Compatibility includes iPhone 6 and newer models, as well as most Android devices running Android 7.1.2 or later manufactured since 2016.
