Ermenrich Ping ET50 Insulation Tester

Ermenrich Ping ET50 is an insulation resistance meter, or megohmmeter, which is used to check the quality of cables. Damage or deterioration of the insulation on a live cable can lead to short circuits and fires. Regular megohmmeter inspection reduces the risk of such dangerous situations occurring. The device operates at 5 test voltages: 100, 250, 500, 1000, and 2500V. The total resistance measurement range is from 0 to 200GΩ.

The device also measures two additional parameters: dielectric absorption ratio (DAR) and polarization index (PI). The first indicates the amount of moisture in the insulation: Drying is required if the volume is high. The second parameter is used to determine the residual insulation life. The megohmmeter also measures AC and DC voltage, has a continuity test function and a timer for resistance measurement mode. The measurement re-sults and operating parameters are displayed on the built-in backlit screen. There are functions for recording data to memory, keeping data on the screen, and determining the minimums and maximums.

The device has a built-in flashlight for working in the dark. The power is supplied from batteries.
