The EQ3-2 mount represents an advanced evolutionary upgrade from the classic EQ-3 mount, featuring a clean white design. It provides an exceptionally stable base for most medium-sized optical systems and is ideal for systematically exploring the night sky. Once you align this equatorial mount with the Pole Star, you can effortlessly lock onto an object, center it within the field of view, and track its motion smoothly using the flexible slow-motion cables. Fine-tuning adjustments are fully supported on both the right ascension and declination axes. In addition, the polar elevation at your observing site can be set using the integrated fine scale and adjusted precisely via two dedicated alignment screws.

The design of the EQ3-2 allows you to easily retrofit a polar finder scope, electric tracking motors, and a hand controller to both axes. This functionality ensures that the mount is not only well-suited for traditional visual observing but also offers an accessible gateway into astrophotography. By adding optional upgrades such as a motor kit or a GoTo upgrade kit, long-exposure astrophotography becomes completely viable. With a small amount of practice, you will soon be capable of capturing successful, high-quality images of distant galaxies and nebulae.
