Product description

The AZ-GTiX produces its own autonomous WiFi network. Once you have paired your smartphone or tablet with the mount, the control software automatically reads location, time, and date information. Following a very simple alignment procedure is all it takes to prepare your telescope for discovering the universe with the help of the user-friendly application.

When combined with the SynScan app, the AZ-GTiX operates as a fully computerized GoTo mount. Utilizing its integrated servomotors, the mount can automatically point the telescope toward any of the 10,000+ celestial objects stored within the app's comprehensive database. The selected object is precisely held within the eyepiece as the motors continuously compensate for the Earth's rotation.

The dual saddle configuration enables the mount to hold two scopes at the same time, or a combination of a telescope and a camera. Thanks to the patented Freedom Find dual encoder system, you can pan across the skies by hand without the computerized control system losing its spatial alignment. Manual movement is completely quiet, fast, and conserves battery energy. Weighing only 2kg, the AZ-GTiX mount head can be installed on any standard tripod equipped with a 3/8” photo thread. It accepts standard 45mm Vixen-style prism rails and includes an L-bracket with an additional fifth-wheel plate along with a 61mm extension pole as standard.

Usage recommendation: For lunar and planetary observations, SkyHunters specialists recommend pairing this mount with a Sky-Watcher Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope, such as the MC 150/1800 SkyMax OTA or the MC 127/1500 SkyMax 127T OTA.
